Christian Crochet Collab

Christian Crochet is a Moluccan-French 34 year old multidisciplinary artist: dancer, performer, musician, (fire)flow artist, poet and photographer based in Zandvoort. Born and raised in Breda, the Netherlands, discovered Latin style dances at the age of 10. Moved to Amsterdam where he discovered popping & locking, hiphop, streetdance while studying French literature. In his early 20’ies he discovered the festival scene where he performed as stage (Go-Go)dancer in colourful costumes and with props. Currently using more elements of Ecstatic Dance and improvisation in his dance acts, movement practices and music experimentations. His biggest inspiration comes from the modernist writer Virginia Woolf and symbolists such as André Breton and Charles Baudelaire. His poetry and music is characterised by the handpan & kalimba: a sense of ephemeral softness often found in nature and a touch of rekindled wonder. Lightness of the mundane: evocate serenity, uniquely detailed, floral and with a melodic flow of childlike enthusiasm and curiosity.
